Surviving & Thriving

Healthy breakfast!

Now I’m moving into the part of this journey where I want to be more than just a survivor — I want to be a thriver. Before surgery, I was swimming and using light hand weights. It might not seem like much, but for my body, it was a lot, and I’m proud of it.

I’ve also started seeing a nutritionist. Wow. I honestly didn’t realize how many struggles I still carry with food, my body image, and my weight. I thought I had it all figured out. I mean, I’ve taught nutrition classes to all ages and even trained people professionally to live healthier lives. And yet here I am, realizing I still have so much to learn and unlearn for myself.

It feels humbling, but also hopeful. I know I have a long way to go, but I’m choosing to take the steps — to seek help, to build better habits, and to treat myself with the same care I’ve always encouraged in others
